In order to stimulate the quality and scientific advancement of the community, the XVII SBSR    awards papers in the following categories:  (1) Articles of Scientific Initiation (2) Visual Communication Posters and for the first time at the event, (3) Best Articles in oral presentation.

a) the three best works in the category Articles of Scientific Initiation;

b) the three best works in the category Articles in Oral Presentation; and

c) the top nine papers presented at the Panel Session.

The awarding of the best Scientific Initiation paper will be done during the "Opening Session of the 17th SBSR", April 26th 2015 (Sunday) at 7:30pm.

The award of the best panel presentations and the best oral presentation articles will be made during the "Symposium Closing Session", April 29th 2015 (Wednesday) at 7:00 pm.

The presence of the author or co-author of the winning works is mandatory at the Symposium Closing Session. In his/her absence the work will be disqualified.

The best works in the category Articles of Scientific Initiation  will be chosen by members of the Scientific Technical Committee responsible for the review and approval of all papers submitted to the XVII SBSR.

The Evaluation Committee will consider the relevance of the paper for the knowledge area, the scientific quality of the study conducted, clarity and the quality of the text presented.

Each paper chosen will receive:

(1) the amount of R$ 500.00 (five hundred reais).

(2) a souvenir of the XVII SBSR.

(3) a certificate of award winning, which will be delivered to the first author or a co-author of the paper in the "Opening Session of the XVII SBSR", on April 26th 2015 (Sunday) at 7:30 pm.

The author or co-author of the winning paper must be present during this ceremony to receive the awards. In the absence of both, the paper will be disqualified.   

The best three papers in the category Articles of Oral Presentation will be chosen by members of the Scientific Technical Committee responsible for the review and approval of all papers submitted to the XVII SBSR.

The Evaluation Committee will take into account the importance and originality of the subject, the scientific rigor and data quality, the relevance of the paper for the area of knowledge, the clarity and quality of the text presented.

Each paper chosen  will receive:

(1) the amount of R$ 500.00 (five hundred reais)

(2) a souvenir of the XVII SBSR

(3) an award-winning certificate

It will be delivered to the first author or co-author of the paper in the  Closing Session of the Symposium, April 29th 2015 (Wednesday) at 7:00 pm.

All winning authors or co-authors will receive the awards during this ceremony. In their absence the paper will be disqualified.

The poster for the presentation of the paper will have approximately 0.90m width times 1,20m height.

Three Award Committees will be established. Each committee will select the best three works of a Panel Session, i.e. three papers will be chosen per day. At the end of the event nine (09) Posters will be awarded.

The members of the Award Committee, when visiting the posters, will not identify themselves.

Each paper chosen will receive

(1) the amount of R$ 500.00 (five hundred reais)

(2) a souvenir of the XII SBSR

(3) an award-winning certificate

It will be delivered to the presenter of the work at the Closing Session of the event, in the Auditorium, on April 29th 2015, , Wednesday,  7:00 pm.

In the absence of the presenter, the award may be received by one of the co-authors during the Closing Session. In case no author is present, the paper is disqualified.

For the choice of the nine (09) best posters in the category Visual Communication, the following criteria will be considered:

1) Poster Identification - Name of the paper, the authors and e-mail for contact should be visible.

2) Clarity of the poster - Its objectives, methodology and results of the study should be clear.

3) Visual quality of the poster - The creativity and harmony in the poster, and ease of learning its content will be considered.

4) Presence of author or co-author - In the period from 5:00 pm to 6:30 pm will be considered.

5) Posture of presenter - fluency of knowledge and exposition of paper will be considered.
